3 Ways To Clean Dirty Walls

If you have some outside walls that need to be cleaned off for whatever reason, you may want to think about using some kind of blasting process. There are a variety of blasting processes that you can use to get the paint, graffiti, dirt, or other stuff off the walls that need to be cleaned.

1. Sandblasting

One of the blasting processes that you can take advantage of is sandblasting. With sandblasting, there are little bits of sand that are blasted at high speed out of a nozzle using air pressure. The air pressure is provided by an air compressor that takes air and puts it under pressure, which will cause it to have more speed and force.

Anything that uses that air pressure is going to go out at high speed. The sand that gets blasted out of the nozzle is going to hit the wall and scour off anything that's there. While sandblasting works pretty well, there are some problems with it. One of them is that you are going to have all that sand left over after the job that will need to get swept up and dealt with. There are also other options that you can use.

2. Soda Blasting

Soda blasting works the same way as sandblasting does. However, instead of using grains of sand or similar material, with soda blasting you are going to be using soda bicarbonate to do the work. Soda bicarbonate is also known as baking soda. The small particles of soda bicarb are blasted out of the sprayer at high speeds and then hits the wall. The soda then knocks everything off the wall. You may have some debris around the area after you are done, but generally less cleanup than if you were to use a sandblasting process.

3. Dry Ice Blasting

Another option is to use dry ice blasting. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide. You can blast it out using the same process as sandblasting or soda blasting. The way that it works is that the dry ice gets blasted out and then hits the wall. The dry ice melts and turns into carbon dioxide gas and gets under whatever is under the wall and cleans it up. Out of all the blasting processes, this is probably the most environmentally friendly option.

If you need to have a cement, brick, or masonry wall cleaned off, a blasting process like sandblasting can do it for you.

About Me

Choosing To Create A Better Home

I have always been one of those people who are really interested in making my home a better place, which is why I started looking into repair and restoration in the first place. I began thinking carefully about what I could do to make my home better, and before I knew it, things had really taken off. I started my project by working hard to rip out the ugly tile in my kitchen, and then I started focusing on repainting my entire home. It was really interesting to see how the entire space brightened up once I made those changes, and I am still grateful I started. Check out this blog for more information on repair.
